Fuku kuruma kokeshi doll | SATO, Yasuhiro | Togatta style

A kokeshi has its own car. This wooden toy is called Fuku-kuruma 福車.
This fuku-kuruma was made by SATO, Yasuhiro who is a Togatta style kokeshi craftsman. 
He made a two-sides of doll, which has glaring daruma and smiling hime daruma.
We can enjoy the contrast in this toy.
This kokeshi can move forward with its wheels.  Fuku means ‘luck’ and kuruma is ‘car’ in Japanese.
Due to age, this kokeshi has spots.

He was born as the first son of Kesakichi SATO(1930-1998) who was a Togatta style kokeshi craftsman. He started learning woodwork from 1983. He started selling his kokeshi dolls from 1984.

- Our Kokeshis are painted with water colors, so they can be easily damaged by water. Please use a dry cloth to clean it.
- Our kokeshi are made of wood, so please avoid exposure to direct sunlight or heat. Humidity may damage the kokeshi. Please avoid excess moisture. (especially direct air from the air conditioner damages to the kokeshi dolls.)
