This is a vintage Naruko style kokeshi doll, by Yoshihiro SATO (1936-2015) who was a Naruko style kokeshi craftsman.
According to the note by the previous owner on the bottom, this kokeshi was made around 2002, which is the 14th year of the Heisei era in Japan.
The bold eyebrows and eyes give a sharp image to this kokeshi doll.
Due to age, this kokeshi has discolouration and spots.
The small items are not included in the product.

He started learning woodwork under the guidance of Saikichi OKAZAKI (1900-1982), when he was 17 years old. He became independent in 1964 and started making kokeshi dolls.
His wife Suduko was also a kokeshi craftsperson. (She stopped making kokeshi dolls after Yoshihiro died.)

経年により色あせやしみがありますが、状態のよいこけしです。
