This vintage kokeshi was made by AKIYAMA, Chuichi(1913-1984) who was a Naruko style kokeshi craftsman.
This kokeshi is a copy of Eikichi MIYAMOTO’s (1880-1951) style, who was a Nanbu style kokeshi craftsman. It was said that this simple kokeshi was modeled on the old Naruko style.
Due to age, this kokeshi has a dirt on the bangs and a dent on the head.
The small items are not included in the product.

He was born as the first son of Tadashi Akiyama(1888-1947) who was a woodworker and kokeshi craftsman in 1993. He started learning woodwork from 1927 under the guidance of Takezo TAKAHASHI(1888-1969) for 2 years. After he moved around, working and joined the army, he came back to Naruko and resumed woodworking and making kokeshi dolls from 1947.

鳴子系こけし秋山忠市工人の永吉型こけしです。こけしコレクターの方の勧めにより、秋山工人が一時期製作していた、岩手でこけし制作の鳴子系こけし工人宮本永吉型です。
前髪の辺りに滲みのような箇所があります。

略歴
1984年鳴子系こけし工人秋山忠の長男として生まれる
1927年高橋武蔵の弟子となり木地修行を行う
1930年頃よりいたずら程度にこけしを作り始める
数度の兵役後、1947年鳴子へ戻り木地業を再開。こけしも再び作り始めた
