This is a vintage Naruko style kokeshi doll, by Katsunori YOSHIDA (1954-). According to the note on the bottom, this kokeshi was made in 2001, which was the 13th year of the Heisei 平成 era in Japan.
The round face and straight stability body give a calm image to this kokeshi doll. The body pattern is chrysanthemum, which is a characteristic of Naruko kokeshi dolls.

He was born in a farming family in Iwate prefecture in 1954. He started learning woodwork from 1970, under the guidance of Shoji SAKURAI(1927-2011) who was a Naruko style kokeshi craftsman. He started making kokeshi dolls from 1971. He became independent in Naruko town in 1983.
