This vintage kokeshi doll with a kimono bow on the body was made by Kazuo SATO(1930-2009) who was a Nanbu and Naruko style kokeshi craftsman.
The moving neck style is a characteristic of Nanbu style kokeshi doll.
The small items are not included in the product.

He was born as the first son of Suekichi Sato(1905-1960) who was a Naruko style kokeshi craftsman. His father Suekichi learned Naruko style and made his kokeshi dolls in Iwate prefecture, which is Nanbu kokeshi’s crafting area. (Naruko town is in the other prefecture, Miyagi.) Thus, Kazuo made both Nanbu and Naruko style kokeshi as well. Kazuo started learning woodwork from 1974.

略歴
1930年鳴子系こけし工人佐藤末吉の長男として生まれる
1946年より木地修行を行う
1947年頃よりこけしを製作している
末吉の師匠が鳴子系こけし工人の伊藤松三郎だったため、鳴子系と南部系を名乗っていたが、末吉晩年の帯型の原型として南部系を名乗りました。
