【津軽系こけし 幸兵衛型】Dento Koubei style kokeshi doll | ABO, Masafumi | Tsugaru style | 24.5cm in height // 津軽系 阿保正文工人, 高さ24.5cm

This is a traditional style of Tsugaru kokeshi doll, which is called Koubei style, by ABO, Masafumi who is a Tsugary style kokeshi craftsman.

The ‘Koubei style’ means copying as an homage Koubei SAITOU’s (1890-1943) dolls.

Traditional style kokeshi craftsmen learn from the old kokeshi dolls by copying them. Masafumi said that his Koubei style kokeshi’s expression has sharper eyes than the classic doll. Her strong face represents the changing position of women in modern times.

We can feel the atmosphere of each era from the simple wooden doll.

津軽系こけし阿保正文工人による、斎藤幸兵衛（1890-1943）様式の伝統的な津軽こけしです。

伝統こけし工人は、伝承されてきたこけしを模写することでその伝統を学びます。正文工人の幸兵衛型こけしの表情は、昔ながらのこけしよりも鋭い目つきをしていると言います。力強い顔立ちは、現代における女性の地位の変化も表しているのかもしれません。

素朴なこけしからそれぞれの時代の雰囲気を楽しめる1本です。

He was born in 1983. He started learning wood work from 2005 under the guidance of his father ABO, Muchihide. Since 2008, he is making kokeshi dolls.

[Please consider the following]
- Our Kokeshis are painted with water colors, so they can be easily damaged by water. Please use a dry cloth to clean it.
- Our kokeshi are made of wood, so please avoid exposure to direct sunlight or heat. Humidity may damage the kokeshi. Please avoid excess moisture. (especially direct air from the air conditioner damages to the kokeshi dolls.)

We will ship your kokeshi dolls by DHL within 3 business days after your purchase is complete. The estimated time will be 5-10 days. Please double check your registered sending address on Shopify before completing your order. Every shipment has the tracking number. We will send you the number after shipping your parcel.

[Custom Tariff ]
Every customer is responsible for any customs and taxes when you import items from Japan. Especially, the customers from EU, UK and some other countries, sorry this shop doesn’t accept IOSS in those countries. The delivery staff will ask you to pay the tax when they deliver. We are not responsible for delays due to customs.
