This is a Kagamimochi kokeshi doll, by HAYASAKA Masahiro who is a Togatta style kokeshi craftsman.

The kokeshi is stacked on a kagamimochi, and is decorated on a plate with a stand.

The flower pattern on the mochi is chrysanthemum, which is a characteristic of the Togatta style kokeshi dolls.

Kagamimochi 鏡餅 is a traditional New Year’s decoration in Japan. We stack two mochis, Japanese orange and set them in front of some places like a family shrine, Buddhist shrine or a small space you think is important such as your desk and car.
