This is a percussive instrument style Kokeshi doll, by HAYASAKA, Masahiro who is a Togatta style Kokeshi craftsman.
He is a good woodworker as well. He combined the top half of kokeshi, with an instrument. When you shake this Kokeshi, you will hear a rattle wooden sound.
It is not only a cute Kokeshi doll but a unique instrument.
Note, Kokeshi is easy to damage with moisture. Please make sure your hand isn’t wet when you shake it.

He was born in a forestry family in 1961. He started woodworking in 1978, and started making kokshi dolls in 1995.
His master is Masahiro SATO (1938-).

- Our Kokeshis are painted with water colors, so they can be easily damaged by water. Please use a dry cloth to clean it.
- Our kokeshi are made of wood, so please avoid exposure to direct sunlight or heat. Humidity may damage the kokeshi. Please avoid excess moisture. (especially direct air from the air conditioner damages to the kokeshi dolls.)
