This is a container style of Ejiko doll, by OGASAWARA, Yoshio(1936-) who is a Togatta style kokeshi craftsman.
Ejiko is one of the names for cradle in Japanese, which was used while parents were farm working in a rural area.
The wooden pattern under the head is ‘biri kanna moyou’, which was carved with a wooden plane. Biri is an onomatopoeia for the sound of the plane, Biri Biri.

“He was born in Togatta (miyagi prefecture) on January 22, 1936. In 1952, he started making wood turned products, continuing for about five years. At age 20, he began working as a craftsman in Sendai. - Our kokeshi are made of wood, so please avoid exposure to direct sunlight or heat. Humidity may damage the kokeshi. Please avoid excess moisture. (especially direct air from the air conditioner damages to the kokeshi dolls.)

高さ12cmの少し大きめのえじこは、中がくりぬかれた小物入れタイプです。

※こけし本体は木でできています。急な乾燥や直射日光、暖房器具の近くを避けてお楽しみください。また、あまり湿気の多い場所ですとカビが生えることがありますのでご注意ください。
