This is a kind of vintage ejiko kokeshi doll, by Yoshinobu KAKIZAWA who is a Naruko style kokeshi craftsman.

Ejiko is one of the names for cradle in Japanese, which was used while parents were farm working in a rural area. The flower on the ejiko is chrysanthemum, which is a characteristic of Naruko style kokeshi doll.

Due to age, this kokeshi has dullness and dents.

鳴子系こけし柿澤是伸工人の古品えじこです。大きめに描かれた菊の花模様が鮮やかなえじこです。
古品のためくすみがあります。

He was born in 1974. He started woodworking in 1993 and started making kokeshi dolls in 1998 under the guidance of his father Koretaka Kakizawa.
His master was his father Koretaka Kakizawa. His mother is also a kokeshi craftsman Mariko Kakizawa.

- Our kokeshi are made of wood, so please avoid exposure to direct sunlight or heat. Humidity may damage the kokeshi. Please avoid excess moisture. (especially direct air from the air conditioner damages to the kokeshi dolls.)
