A kokeshi has its own car. This wooden toy is called Fuku-kuruma 福車.
This fuku-kuruma was made by ABE, Kunitoshi who is a Tsuchiyu style kokeshi craftsman.
This kokeshi can move forward with its wheels. Fuku means ‘luck’ and kuruma is ‘car’ in Japanese.
This doll is possibly vintage. Due to age, this kokeshi has spots.

He was born as the second son of ABE, Toshimichi (1941-) who is a Tsuchiyu style kokeshi craftsman. His grandparents and great grandfather were also kokeshi craftspeople.
He started learning woodwork under the guidance of JINNOHARA Yukinori (1947-) and selling doll around 1995.

- Our kokeshi are made of wood, so please avoid exposure to direct sunlight or heat. Humidity may damage the kokeshi. Please avoid excess moisture. (especially direct air from the air conditioner damages to the kokeshi dolls.)
