This is a cat kokeshi doll, by Teruyuki HIRAGA who is a Sakunami style kokeshi craftsman in Tohoku, Japan.
February 22nd has been named as a ‘cat’s day’ in Japan. Because of the similarity between the sounds Ni (two) and Nyan (meow of cat) in Japanese. The matching numbers 222 is the exact day for cat, Nyan Nyan Nyan.

Please consider the following : - Our Kokeshis are painted with water colors, so they can be easily damaged by water. (especially direct air from the air conditioner damages to the kokeshi dolls.)
