Collection: HAYASAKA, Masahiro 早坂政弘工人 | Togatta style 遠刈田系
He was born in Miyagi prefecture in 1961. Because of his father’s death as a child, he thought to acquire a skill. He started learning woodwork under the guidance of Masahiro Sato (Togatta style kokeshi craftsman) after graduating junior high school in 1976.
He started painting kokeshi dolls from 1981 and became independent in 1997.
Because his master Masahiro Sato is a skilled woodworker, Masahiro Hayasaka can make not only kokeshi dolls but also wooden products as well.
