Kokeshi event information.
‘Togatta kokeshi matsuri’ will be held on October 25th at Miyagi zao kokeshi-kan in Zao town in Miyagi prefecture. (Matsuri means ‘event’ in Japanese)
You can meet craftsmen and buy kokeshi dolls directly from

Also, there will be demonstrations by Togatta style kokeshi craftspeople, Tsukasa Wagatsuma, Rika Komatsu and Yoshimi Koyama.
This kokeshi kan has a vintage dento kokeshi collection. I hope you will have a good kokeshi time!
Note: On the flyer, this event will start at 9:00 am but they have a reservation system to buy kokeshi dolls until 11:00 am. It will be opened to general customers from 11:15 am. Please follow the instructions from the staff.

Access: If you will take a public transportation, there is a highway bus from Sendai station to Togatta onsen bus stop. It will take around 70 minutes. Fare is 1400 JPY.
By car, please check the parking lots on the flyer.
